1. I have to say that Lowepro customer service, warranty, and return policy are 100% awesome/top notch/the best I have ever come across.

This is being said because I got one of their Vertex 300 AW backpacks thanks to my friend/schoolmate/old room mate/fellow photographer Shelby Gibbs and although it is an awesome camera gear/laptop bag, a couple parts on the shoulder straps started to fray.

I emailed them to see what can be done about it and they said to send it in. After I sent it, I got an email back saying they were going to replace it and send me a new one. . . I should have it in two weeks.

[I also broke the hinges on a pelican case, called them, got a return merch authorization number to send it back (sent it on the same day as the Lowepro) but I have yet to hear from pelican. . ]

2. I know I haven't posted on here in bit, hopefully #3 will clear up why. I'm also in the process of getting my Tumblr blog up and running. Once that happens this blog will be somewhat of an archive of older stuff. .

I haven't posted on here in a couple days, reason is that i've been shooting a bunch of film and the process to web isn't as fast as i woud like.

My good friend Taylor Smith just got a Holga and we have been shooting/teaching/learning a lot with/from each other.

Shooting film is my most favorite thing about cameras, and being able to shoot film for fun with friends can't be beaten by a digital camera or a polaroid iPhone app. .

with that being said, here is one of the most recent additions to my film collection:

If you find that the sensor in your digital camera is constantly picking up dust, even after you think its clean, try cleaning the body cap and rear lens caps, they collect dust, and can easily transfer that dust during lens changes!!!

some days i spend all day inside on the computer, usually that sucks.

today i came across a lot of really interesting and inspiring things.

and learned how to do the focus stacking in cs4. it's pretty neat.
I have heard of better scripts/applications for focus stacking, but this one seems to work for now.

The other day Taylor got his tax return.
With that, we went to the apple store at south coast to purchase him a new computer.
his card didn't work, (those hand held things they use at the apple store NEVER work)
luckily, his girlfriend Rhi was there ad is baller enough to cover the $1750 Taylor needed.
Taylor needed to pay her back.

Combined story:
Taylor asked me if he should get Rhi's money in tens, i said "no, lets party"
He got $1000 in one dollar bills, the rest in 20's and a ten.
I said the only way we can do this is a golden briefcase. . .
and this followed.

Tyler fell ice skating and bashed his chin open. .

we went to the hospital to get stitches but they wanted too much money so we waited for 4 hours for nothing. Except a ton of laughing and funny things like this video of him putting hospital grade hand sanitizer into his gaping chin wound. .

$310 on the 101

So I hit a pot-hole on the 101 south a couple weeks back, and by "hit" I mean "slammed the hell into".
I thought my tire was going to blow, but it didn't.
I checked it out and it looked ok.

I went to Toyota this week and they couldn't rotate my tires because the inside lip of my front right wheel is bent too far and would rub if rotated to the back.

I jacked it up today and here's what I found. Fun.

That's a Motegi FF7 18" wheel. . about $160-$190
and a Nexen N3000 215/35/18 tire. . about $100
Labor and valve stems and bla bla is about $310
